Media Mixed Canvas Collage Workshop

with Diane Kotlow Segal

Join Diane for a full day workshop filled with fun and creative techniques to create your very own original piece of art.

Each participant will begin with a blank white canvas

upon which a collage will be built. Cut or ripped pieces of  lace or other texured fabric will then be secured to the canvas and

at that point, you will arrange your focal piece and flat objects to complete your collage.

The next step will be to learn how to apply paint, to enhance your assemblage and finish your wonderful masterpiece! Yes...all levels are welcome!

Feel free to bring an extra canvas if you would like to create a couple of pieces.

​Supply list

1- 10”x10”or 12”x12”stretched canvas

2- thick tacky glue ,glue gun and glue sticks

3- tubes of acrylic paint: black,turquoise,metallic gold and or bronze

4- a couple of acrylic paint brushes:approximately 1”,1/4”

5- large serving spoon and or any other object you would like to use as a centerpiece…. I’ve incorporated a small perfume bottle and an angel face with wings….. think layering!

6- an assortment of flat objects , such as buttons,charms, metalwashers ,coins (approximately 50).

7- lace you’re willing to cut up or any other highly textured material such as burlap or cheese cloth

8- pair of scissors to cup up the lace

9- an apron!!!

10- bring a bagged lunch

Diane is a mixed media artist with the primary focus the gathering of found objects, recycled materials and art journaling mingled with collage, painting, and storytelling. Her work often sends a message that is very personal to her as well as the viewer.
